The lead story this week

City calls for artists for Botanical Gardens sculptures and utility box wraps
City Calls for Artists for Botanical Gardens Sculptures and Utility Box Wraps

Here's your chance to make PSL more beautiful. The city is actively seeking artists and photographers to submit work for two public art initiatives that'll transform our community.

First up: sculptures for the PSL Botanical Gardens. Imagine walking through that gorgeous green space and discovering original art pieces around every corner. Second: utility box wraps around town. Those gray boxes on our streets could become moving works of art instead of visual afterthoughts.

This is the kind of project that reminds me why I love this city. We're not just building infrastructure—we're building culture. If you're an artist or know someone talented, this is your moment to get involved and leave your mark on Port St. Lucie.

What it means for PSL: The city is investing in local art that makes PSL more visually stunning.

🔮PSL Reimagined
This week's totally made-up "what if"

What if Port St. Lucie became the next Silicon Valley?
What if PSL Became the Next Silicon Valley?
Tech money has to land somewhere eventually — so what if the next boom skipped Austin entirely and set up shop right here on US-1?
  • Every strip-mall Publix parking lot gets rebranded "PSL's answer to Sand Hill Road" — same potholes, new pitch deck.
  • HOA newsletters swap lawn-care reminders for seed-round announcements; every lanai becomes a "co-working space" with a brutal humidity index.
  • Rush hour on US-1 gets renamed "Series A congestion" — still just one guy turning left at Prima Vista.
  • The gator in the retention pond becomes unofficial campus security. Nobody's brave enough to evict him.
  • Hurricane prep kits now need a backup generator AND a backup Wi-Fi router, because uptime is uptime.
  • A Florida Man headline gets investor interest — somebody's pitching a Series A to "disrupt" alligator wrangling.
  • Snowbirds start flying in every September instead of November, chasing rumors of the "PSL tech boom" before anyone else catches on.
